Thy will be done

Matthew 6:10  Your kingdom come. Your will be done, On earth as it is in heaven.

The chief meaning of this petition is not that we should suffer, but that we should act. With earnest and firm resolve we should set ourselves upon doing that which our own conscious tell us God would have us to do. But let us consider, first, its bearing upon suffering.

1.      Though this is a part of the meaning of the Petition, it is but a small part
a.       God has so constituted the world as for trouble to form part of our common lot, falling upon some but lightly and at distant intervals, and visiting others blow upon until their hearts are bowed down and overclouded with sorrow.
b.      Our reason tells us that to submit to God’s law is wise. But when our own turn comes to suffer, our will rises against God, and it is faith only that can make us say, “Thy will be done” faith in God’s love, in Christ’s salvation and in the promised glory of Christ’s kingdom.

2.      The more important meaning of the petition is “Thy will be done” actively by us, by our earnestly setting ourselves to live a life of faith.
This is important because it is the true meaning of the petition, not “Thy will be endured,” but “Thy will be done.” It is to be done as in heaven. But there is no suffering in heaven. Besides, the doing of God’s will include the effect. All we can do is by the grace of God. To obtain this grace we must pray.

3.      God will must not only be done, but done as his will
a.       How this is to be is to be seen by our Lord’s example
b.      That is the hardest thing of all, to do God’s will

We can because our natures have been transformed, all selfishness and earthly longing removed, and the image and sin-corrupted breasts.

Are you born again?

John 3:1-3 Now there was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews;  2 this man came to Jesus by night and said to Him, "Rabbi, we know that You have come from God as a teacher; for no one can do these signs that You do unless God is with him."  3 Jesus answered and said to him, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God."
Time and days are passed away and time and year are gone, the most important in this life is to be born again. Because in John 3:3 Jesus answered him, "Very truly, I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God without being born from above."
In a Christian life the most important is to be born again. Bible talk about Born again which the is not coming out from human being, it is not about a person born of this flesh, is not to be righteous for not sinning again, it’s not a person can change in his whole life to be a good life or to live in a perfect life.     The truth born again can change the life of the people, it can shakes or change in all area. That comes automatically when you received the Spirit in our life. Born again is from God it’s a secret which we received from God.

How can we know being born again?

It is to received Jesus as our personal savior, a real born again person will have faith in Jesus. He will live according to what the Lord want; it’s all about to received the Holy Spirit in his life. In his life he must fight with the evil, he has to hate bad things in his life. He will keep God as the first person in his life. In his whole life he will be thirsty in the word of God; also his life is to do good things to his fellow believers/non-believers. So are you born again in the blood of Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of God?

The Christian light

Matthew 5:16 “Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.”

Christ, the light of the world, says to His followers “you are the light of the world.” There is no real discrepancy between the two statements: the city is lit by lamps and yet it is the electricity that does not it all.
1.      There is first the positive injunction that Christians are to do everything in their power to secure that their light shall shine as brightly as possible.
a.       By the position we take up.
i.                    A lamp on the floor will not send out its rays so widely as if it were suspended from the ceiling.
ii.                  The Christian should connect himself with the church; let this light shine by joining the company of those who confess with their mouths the Lord Jesus.
b.      By the character which we form.
i.                    Character is the most important thing in the world.
ii.                  There is no eloquence so powerful as a good man’s life.
c.       By the exertions we make for the conversion of fellow men.
By these we benefit ourselves; let a man tie up his hand so that it become motionless and by and by it will become withered and powerless like the limb of an Indian devotee.

2.      Look at the negative side of this injunction
a.       We should remove everything that tends either to obscure or to hide out light, or which so affects it as to make it suggestive of ourselves rather than of God
i.                    We should get rid of the undue reserve by which multitudes are characterized.
ii.                  We must keep ourselves clear from all practical inconsistencies.
iii.                We should avoid all self display. The best style in writing is that which gives the thought with such transparency that reader sees nothing else; and that is the noblest Christian character which shows the most of Christ.

Witnesses

Isaiah 43:10  "You are My witnesses," declares the LORD, "And My servant whom I have chosen, So that you may know and believe Me And understand that I am He. Before Me there was no God formed, And there will be none after Me.

1.      Why has God chosen a Believer for this work?
a.       Because he knows experimentally more of God than any other being. Angels could witness of His majesty and goodness. Devils, of his wrath and justice. All men, of his wisdom. But a child of God, while witnessing to all these, can tell of His mercy, of his forgiving love, of his forbearance, tenderness, and loving kindness.
b.      Because he can have no greater joy. The bride’s delight is to point out her Lord, saying, “This is my friend; this is my beloved.” It is by grace we are permitted to testify of Christ.
c.       Because of our being constantly in the presence of our fellow men. He would have the world without excuse. For from her very midst. He rises up His witnesses.

2.      The things a believer must possess in order to witness for Christ.
a.       Knowledge: he must know by experience of the truth of God’s word. His life must be one “amen” to the words of his Lord. Thus, the master says, “My yoke is easy,” “Him that come” the witness, says, it is so; His yoke is easy; he has received and saved me.
b.      Veracity: However distasteful to men, we must speak the truth. The Martyrs died amid flames because they would speak the truth as they themselves apprehended it.
c.       Consistency: Can one who says “this” today and “that” tomorrow, be believed? If you are most sanctimonious on Sunday and most worldly all the week, who will value your testimony?
d.      Patience: In our courts of law a witness has often long waiting. And though he attests the uprightness of a beggar, he waits. Remember, we witness of the Judge.
e.       Boldness, firmness: The world will do its cross examining trying to catch us in our speech, as it did Christ.

3.      The best methods Christ’s witness can adopt.
What are they? A parade of private devotion? Learned expositions of your creed? Condemnation of your opponents? Seclusion in a hermit’s cell? No, but rather:
a.       A daily manifestation of heart loyalty to Christ.
b.      A daily feeding on His promises, thus showing contentment and hope.
c.       A growing in His likeness

d.      The display of the grace of His spirit.

The purpose of praise

Psalm 103:2 Bless the LORD, O my soul, And forget none of His benefits;

I.                   It is praise to God
“Blessed the Lord.” The Lord gives life and sustains it. We live, move, and have our life in him. We should praise Him for every good and perfect gift. We should praise Him for all physical and spiritual blessings. The Lord is worthy of all praise from all the people in all the earth.

II.                It is praise from the soul
“O my soul.” The praise uttered here comes from a full heart. It is a very expression of the soul. The praise expressed here is from all the faculties and powers of the being. It expresses all that can come from the intellect, the feeling and the will of a grateful personality. This praise is the voice of the sincere soul. Such praise will lift the soul into the very presence of God.

III.             It is praise for Benefit

“Forget not all his benefit.” Praise the Lord for all he does for us in the physical and the spiritual realms. Study the seven benefits of the Lord mentioned in Psalm 103:3-6. He forgives our sins and saves our souls and we become children of his. He is the great physician and can heal all the diseases of the body when it is in accord with his Holy will. He preserves life, crowns with loving-kindness, supplies every good thing that life needs, and gives continually the strength we need. How gracious is the Lord! What benefits to have Him always! Praise Him! Bless His name.

How to prepare for judgment?

To prepare a judgment is to face our Lord Jesus, we need to be careful in our living, the first thing is to repent from our sin and know what the Lord want us to do in this life. We need to follow what is right in this world and also we need to obey the word which is spoken by the man of God like Pastor, Evangelist, missionary, if we are believing and obeying his command we will not fear when the judgment will come. Let us make our mind and do well for the extension of the kingdom of God.

By repenting and turning to God
For preparing the coming of Our Lord Jesus, first thing we need to do is to repent our wrong doing and submit everything to the Lord. Here repent means “to ask forgiveness” when we say we have no sin in us we deceive our self there is nothing in us. But if we confess our sin he will forgive our sin and will give us assurance.  Everybody who is living in this world are born as a sinner no one can clean our sin by our self. There is only one person who can clean us, that is only Jesus Christ who has died on the cross of Calvary. If we believe in him and turn to God and everything submitting to God that is the thing that Christian must do in this world and preparing for the final judgment.

By making it my constant aim to please Christ
In 2 Corinthians 5:9-11, So whether we are at home or away, we make it our aim to please him.  10 For all of us must appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each may receive recompense for what has been done in the body, whether good or evil.  11 Therefore, knowing the fear of the Lord, we try to persuade others; but we ourselves are well known to God, and I hope that we are also well known to your consciences. It is clearly mention that we need to make our aim to please our Lord Jesus. Not only when we are in the church or somewhere outside the church. But when we are at home or away from home in any places. Our mind should not go out of him instead we need to have clear mind so that God will able to rule our heart every minute. Whatever we did that will lead us into judgment, whether we are doing good things or bad thing so we need to be careful in our living? Things we are going to do is to fear the Lord in every step of our life, also we have to know that to know God is not enough but God know us in every step of our lives. This is the most important in our Christian life. Let’s make our heart that God know us or not.

By believing on the Son (John 5:24)
In John 5:24. Very truly, I tell you, anyone who hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life, and does not come under judgment, but has passed from death to life. Here we can see that everyone who hear the word of God and believes the one who sent our Lord Jesus will have eternal life. Those who are know and God know will not come into judgment. Instead he will pass from death to life. This is very important in the Christian life. If we are not known by God we are going to face judgment but if we are know by God. Our live will change from death into life.

The Fruit of the Spirit

Galatians. 5:22-23.

In the book of Galatians, Paul warned regarding the works of the flesh to the Galatians believers. Because in the Galatians church do not carrying to their fellow believer, they are destroying the liberty of joy in Christ; also they prevent from following the spirit and rejecting which their fellow friends were trying to do.

The fruit of the spirit is Love
In Greek word agape means the love that seeks only the highest good of others. When we look Old Testament God love has been poured into the heart of his people. Which the Lord has poured out should also be passed to their fellow friends. Here clearly state that love means not to love only our self, but to love one another, as Christ has loved us.
In our Christian life love is becoming to our closest friends, relative, neighborhood, but that is not really good for being a Christian to love only to our closest friends. It is to love one another passionately, this love which we are talking is not only for special people, it is for the universal people, people who are walking up and down must love each other, then the love which is mentioning in the Bible will be the love that we received from the spirit.

The fruit of the spirit is Joy
In Greek word chara, which means joy, gladness, it is closely related to our faith and hope which we received from God. In 1 Thess. 1:6 it is a blessing that sustain us from the time of persecution, in our bad days. Joy is coming from Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ everyone who is in Christ must have joy in their life. Because who ever led by the Spirit must have joy in their life.
In our Christian life Joy is the constant presence in our lives. When joy is presence in our lives, we must have joy together; when we face any difficulties or something difficult and circumstances we must have joy in our heart. Especially when facing any problem for working out the gospel we should have joy in our heart. Joy led us into a better lives and it can give us happiness lives.

A call to worship

Psalm 34:2-3 My soul will make its boast in the LORD; The humble will hear it and rejoice.  3 O magnify the LORD with me, And let us exalt His name together.

This text is a clear call to sincere worship. To respond to the call will enable souls to have strength to meet the difficulties of life. Among the lessons in the text are:

1.      The purpose of worship is stated
“O mighty the Lord” the primary purpose of worship is to magnify the Lord, and to exalt His holy name that we may receive strength in so doing. The Lord is worthy of worship. His character is good, his deeds are merciful, his acts are just, and his love is everlasting. Reverence the Lord! Adore Him! Magnify his work! Exalt his Holy name!

2.      The people for worship are mentioned
“With me” the psalmist expresses his praise to the Father and then calls for all people everywhere to join him in holy worship. Truly all people should worship the lord for his goodness. In other places in the Psalms the writer calls on all things to praise the Lord, even the heavens to be glad, the earth to rejoice, the fields to be happy, and the trees to sing for joy. Surely all men should praise and worship God. All men need to worship Him. All would be blessed in worship.

3.      The place of worship is intimated
“Let us exalt his name together.” This calls for the unity of an assembly. It calls for people to assemble themselves together and worship the Lord in the unity of purpose. It is a glorious truth that men may worship the Lord in any and all places. But it is true also that there is an inspiration in a congregation worshipping the Lord together in the beauty of holiness. It is glorious that the people of our nation are within easy reach of a place erected and dedicated unto the Lord to worship.

4.      The plan of worship is suggested

‘His praise shall continually be in my mouth.’ Man may praise the Lord in song, and prayer, and testimony and witnessing. These methods may be used in private and in public as men seek to worship and mighty the Lord and his blessed name and work.

Who will preside as judge?

Here some people may think the head for the judgment will be someone the Godly people who are already taken to heaven. Some may think that like Abraham will judge in the Day of Judgment. But it is not sure those who are Godly people will not judge because they are the only instrument for God to his people. Let us see who will be the preside during the judgment

The Son of God will be judge
In John 5:22 clearly mention that, the Father judges no one but has given all judgment to the Son. The judgment will not be conducted by the Father but it will be the Son whom God the Father love him so much. And in John 5:27 and he has given him authority to execute judgment, because he is the Son of Man. All the necessary things will be conducted by the son. And the son will be all in all, he will do everything.

God has secure us of this by raising Jesus from the dead
Here we are sure that God love his people and gave his only begotten son so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. So as the Son came to this world to save the world, whoever believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. So the son has come in this world to change the mind of the people. So in the judgment day he is the only one who will judge because he is the one who came to this world to save our lives. In Acts 17:30 While God has overlooked the times of human ignorance, now he commands all people everywhere to repent. In the time of our ignorance God has still love us and trying to bring back to his side. For our believes we secure us that he has raising up his son from the dead. And he is sitting in the throne when the time of judgment will come he will be the judge and he will be all in all in the time of judgment.

Wisdom

            What is wisdom?
It can be say that, the morally right application of knowledge. In this world the first think we are trying to gain is wisdom. Wisdom is talking in many places in the Bible. But many people don’t think that wisdom comes from God, every one tries their own knowledge to gain wisdom.
In 1 Corinthians 1:30, He is the source of your life in Christ Jesus, whom God made our wisdom and our righteousness and sanctification and redemption. Here it is clearly mention the sources of wisdom; it is only God who can give us wisdom, to gain a wisdom we need to know Jesus first. Then everything will come to us. I just want to mention the benefit of wisdom in our life.

The benefit of wisdom
What is the benefit to wisdom?  To have wisdom is to have more knowledge, for that we need to have a plan for it. Through our plan the spirit will empower us to have desires in doing wiser than before, also to have dreams, a vision, and ambition and to have a goal. All this things will come if we have a Spirit in our heart. God has plan in our life, Romans 8:29 For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. In this verse it is clearly talk about the plan which God has in us. Before we were born we are already chosen by God he has a plan in us. The plan was good but it is not pleasant, also the plan is conform us to the image of Christ.

In Proverbs 16:3, Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and your plans will succeed. Whatever we do in this earth we need to commit our life into the Lord then everything we do will succeed. And also in Philippians 2:13, for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure. In the human heart we are not the one who is working in us but it is the Lord who is working in us.  Proverbs 19:21, Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the LORD that will stand. In our live we have many plan and trying to do everything but human plan is useless we can’t fulfill what we plan it is God who alone can fulfill the plan which we have. So in this world we may gain wisdom and knowledge, we may be very wise but our plan can’t be fulfill without God. So everything we are trying to do let’s ask the Lord to help us in all circumstance.

The result of resurrection

Colossians 3:1 Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.  2 Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth.  3 For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God.  4 When Christ, who is our life, is revealed, then you also will be revealed with Him in glory.

1.      Raise with Christ
“Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.” Here the scripture talks about the risen of Christ. If Christ is not risen from the death, all the gospel will be in vain. So if anyone is raised with Christ he is not the same person, he is a new creation. He is transformed and Christ lives in him. His old life has gone and building up his new life through Jesus Christ. He cannot depart from Christ. He is with God and doing the will of God.

2.      To set our mind in above
In verse 2 first parts says that, “Set your mind on the things above,” As the scripture clearly says that, our mind should not disturb by the worldly things. But as a human being we are limitless desire. When we see something better than ours, we like to have what other people have. Because we are jealous to our fellow friends, neighbor, etc. Instead we have to look the above and see what the Lord want us to do. As the children of God, We cannot live in our personal desire; we have to live according to the will of God. So if we are change with Christ. Whatever we do or think, it must be the will of the above. Our heart and mind must be always on above. We need to rely on the riches of God in heaven.

3.      Leave behind the world

“Do not on the things that are on earth.” It is clearly says that, not to trust in the worldly things. When we look at the world, there are different kinds of things can be seen, like immorality, sexual pleasure, covetous etc? Living in the world we have to see all the worldly things, and will lead us into lust. We have to think our selves and trying to know what God want us to be, at the same time we have to rely on God providence.

Make God’s aim your aim

Philippians 3:13-14
The apostle here is letting us see the secret of his own life and telling us what made him the sort of Christian that he was. He counsels wise obviousness, wise anticipation, strenuous concentration; and these are the things that contribute to success in any field of life.

1.      The example of Paul.
a.       The testimony of the immediate context. He regards the aim towards which he strains as being the aim which Christ had in view in his conversion (Verse 12-13).

b.      The summary of the teaching of the immediate context. He took God’s purpose in calling and Christ purpose in redeeming him as being his great object in life. God’s aim and Paul’s were identical.

2.      God’s aim
a.       The aim stated. What then, is the aim of God in all that He had done for us? The production in us of God like and God pleasing character.

b.      The importance of the aim. For this all the discipline of life is set in motion. For this we were created; for this we have been redeemed. For this Jesus Christ lived, suffered, and died. For this God’s Spirit is poured out upon the world.

3.      The result of the acceptance of God’s aim
a.       It changes man’s estimate of the meaning and true nature of events. It will give nobleness and blessedness to our lives. How different all our estimates of the meaning and true nature of events would be, if we kept before us that their intention was to mold us to the likeness of our Lord and Savior.

b.      It changes a man’s estimate of nearer objects and aims. Men take these great powers which God has given them and use them to make money, to cultivate their intellects, to secure the gratification of earthly desires, to make a home for themselves; and all the while the great aim which ought to stand out clear and supreme in forgotten.

Moses and Hobab

Numbers 10:29-31
The fugitives whom Moses led reached Sinai in three months after leaving Egypt. They remained there for at least nine months. Some times before the encampment broke up, a relative of Moses by marriage, Hobab by name had come into camp on a visit. He was a Midianite by race, one of the wondering tribes from the south east of the Arabian Peninsula. He knew every foot of the ground. So moses, who had no doubt forgotten much of the little desert skill he had learned in keeping Jethro’s flock, prays Hobab to remain with them and give them the benefit of his practical knowledge.

I.                   A sense of the unknown wilderness before us
1.      A general complexion of the future may be roughly estimated. We know very early in life that the thread of our days is a mingled strand and the prevailing tone a sober, neutral tint. The main characteristics of what we shall meet we well enough know.

2.      The Particular Events of the future are hidden. It is strange and impressive when we come to think how providence, working with the same uniform materials in all human lives, can yet, like some skillful artist, produce endless novelty and surprises in each life. The solemn ignorance of the next moment is sometimes stimulating and joyous. But to all there come times when their ignorance is saddening.

3.      The aspect of life Represented as a wilderness. There are dangers and barren places and a great solitude in spite of love and companionship, and many marching’s and lurking foes, and grim rocks, and fierce suns, and parched wells, and shadiness sand wastes enough in every life to make us quail often and look grave always when we think of what may be before us.

II.                The true leader of our protest
1.      Israel’s true Leader. The true leader of the children of Israel in their wilderness journey was not Moses, but the Divine Presence in the cloud with a heart of fire, that hovered over their camp for a defense and sailed before them for a guide (Exodus 13:21).

2.      The Christian’s true Leader. In sober reality we have God’s presence; and waiting hearts which have ceased from self-will may receive leading as real as ever the pillar gave to Israel.

3.      The Christian’s responsibility to his Leader.
a.      Obedient step by step following: No doubt in all our lives there come times when we seem to have been brought into a blind alley, and cannot see where we are to get out; but it is very rare indeed that we do not see one step in advance,, the duty which lies next to us. And be sure of this, that if we are content to see but one step at a time, and take it, we shall find our way made plain.

b.      Certainly of God’s will: Do not seek to outrun God’s guidance, to see what you are to do a year hence or to act before you are sure of what is His will; do not let your wishes get in advance of the pillar and the ark, and you will be kept from many a mistake and led into a region of deep peace.

c.       Reverent following: “Go after the ark, yet there shall be a space between it and you; come not near it, that ye may know the way ye ought to go’ (Joshua 3:3-4). If we impatiently press too close on the heels of our guide we lose the guidance. There must be a reverent following which allows indications of the way full time of develop themselves and does not fling itself into new circumstances on the first flush of apparent duty.

III.             The desire for a Human guide has been met in the gift of Christ
1.      Hobab’s Qualification. Moses sought to secure this Midianite guide because he was a native of the desert and had travelled all over it. His experience was his qualification.

2.      Christ Qualification. He travelled every foot of the road by which we have to go. He knows ‘how to encamp in this wilderness,’ for he himself has ‘tabernacle among us’ and by experience has learned the weariness of the journey and the perils of the wilderness.

3.      The Believer’s Pattern. His life is our pattern. Our marching orders are brief and simple: follow your leader, and plant your feet in His footprint.

If we only ask him to be with us ‘instead of eyes’ and accept his gentle leading, we shall not walk in darkness, but may plunge into thickest night and the most unknown land, assured that he will ‘lead us by the right way to the city of habitation’ (Psalm 107:7)

Look at your mother

We will see the love of the mother to their children
1.      While you’re in her womb she take care of you
2.      When you are born she feed you in her breast
3.      When you are not well, without sleeping she is carrying you
4.      She clean you in all dirty things
5.      Without you she can’t have a good thing/ she can’t eat without you
6.      She think of your future she work very hard for you
7.      While raining or sunny she protected you
8.      She taught you everything
9.      Because she have you, she can’t get back her beauty
10.  Because of you some time she got scold from your father
11.  Because of your mother hard work you can become brilliant person
12.  She cover you before you can work out any thing
13.  When you’re strong enough she still take care of you and drop you to your school

Mothers make a relationship
1.      She make a relationship between You and God
2.      Between you and your father
3.      Between you neighborhood
4.      Between your family members.
That’s why they says mothers make the world

What kind of mother you like?
1.      Hannah: the mother’s of Samuel = prayerful mother, the one who dedicated her child to God
2.      Sarah: The mother of Isaac = respect of her husband
3.      Jacobeth: The mother of Moses = who is a good teacher
4.      Eunice: The Mother of Timothy = a person who can bring up her child to a leader of the church
5.      The wife of Noah who can help her husband in his work
6.      Abigail: the wife of Nabal = who can rescue her husband
7.      Ruth: who can be a good daughter-in-law
8.      The women of Gentile who are asking for their children
9.      Mary and Martha: A person who can care for their brother, and call Jesus for him
These are the person whom we can see, which one of the mother you should choose for your mother.
