The ministry of the Law shows the sinfulness of sin

Romans 7:10-13
10 I found that the very commandment that was intended to bring life actually brought death.  11 For sin, seizing the opportunity afforded by the commandment, deceived me, and through the commandment put me to death.  12 So then, the law is holy, and the commandment is holy, righteous and good.  13 Did that which is good, then, become death to me? By no means! But in order that sin might be recognized as sin, it produced death in me through what was good, so that through the commandment sin might become utterly sinful.

In this verse we can understand the people know there is such a thing as sin; but they do not realize the sinfulness of sin. Many Christians do not realize the true nature of sin. We make excuse our sins with words like “mistakes” or “weaknesses”; but God condemns our sins and tries to get us to see that they are “exceedingly sinful.” Until we realize how wicked sin really is, we will never want to oppose it and live in victory. Here Paul is mentioning “sin might be recognized as sin”
The reason the believer cannot make themselves holy by means of law because God’s law is holy and good and the human nature is so sinful that it cannot be changed or controlled by law. It is a wonderful day in the life of the Christian when he or she discovers that “the old nature knows no law and the new nature needs no law.”
Leviticus 18:5 tells us that “we may live if we do God’s commands.” The problem is that none of us can keep the commands and so they end up killing us. The Law would have given life had it been perfectly obeyed but it is impossible to do so as declared in Romans 3:23: “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” and James 2:10 reminds us: “For whoever keeps the whole Law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it.” Paul is saying that before the Law let him have it, he thought he had it all. But when the Law came, it ignites his passion and caused sin to spring to life. Before all this happened he thought he was alive, but sin had sucked the very life out of him.
Paul’s argument here is wonderful: (1) the Law is not sinful - it is holy, just, and good; (2) but the Law reveals sin, and the law shown the sinfulness of the sin, and it arouses sin, and then uses sin to kill us; if something as good as the Law accomplishes these results, then something is radically wrong somewhere.
How sinful sin is when it can use something good like the Law to produce such tragic results. Sin is indeed “exceedingly sinful.” The problem is not with the Law, the problem is with my sinful nature.
My dear friend, we may able to read many books, attend seminars, and get a great deal of information. If we are not careful, we will start following a human leader and accept his teachings as Law. Then it will kill our spiritual growth. No human teacher can take the place of Christ; no book can take the place of the Bible. Men can give us information, but only the Spirit can give us illumination and help us understand spiritual truths. The Spirit enlightens us and enables us; no human leader can do that.

As we have being heard about law and sin, my dear friend’s let us examine ourselves that through our teaching or reading as much as book we want, that cannot lead us in a perfect stage of life. That can give only information to go in a proper way. Instead let ask the Holy Spirit to control in us, through him we will able to fight back the sin which is in us. Then the law which is given to us will be fulfilled. Then only we will able to go near to God.
